Software Engineer – Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) Job Vacancies 2026

General Requirements :

• Be of excellent moral character
• Be physically and mentally fit to discharge the duties of the post
• Be a citizen of Sri Lanka

Nature of Appointment :

• This appointment will be on a contract basis for a period of one (01) year, which may be extended for a further period of one (01) year based on performance and service
  requirement.

Educational Qualifications :

• A Bachelor’s Degreein Computer Science/Software Engineering/Information Technology or an equivalent qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of
  Sri Lanka.

Experience :

• A minimum of Five (05) years experience in software engineering, development, and system implementation.
• Experience in cybersecurity practices and API development.
• Experience in web-based application development, database management, and system integration.
• Experience in healthcare system design and development, including digital platform integration, with strong exposure to payment gateway integration.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Ensure database integrity, system security, and compliance with data protection requirements.
• Design, develop, implement, and maintain software systems and digital platforms of the SLMC.
• Develop and maintain APIs and integrate external services such as payment gateways and SMS systems.
• Provide technical support, user training, and documentation.
• Perform system testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the management of the SLMC.

Age :

• As per the Government Circulars.

Salary :

• The salary and other emoluments shall be as determined by the Medical Council.
