Ministry of Justice and National Integration invites applications for the post of Coroner. You can apply to it before closing date as per the following details. Closing date and other job details are given below.
Applications are invited to make appointments for the post of Coroner for the vacancies that exist in the Divisional Secretary’s Divisions
under Section 108 of the Criminal Procedure Code No. 15 of 1979. List of vacancies and application form may be downloaded from www.moj.gov.lk website of the ministry. This is not a post with entitlement for drawing a government salary. Coroners will be paid a government approved fee, approved travelling expenses / incorporated allowance for performing an inquest.
Applicants fulfilling the following basic qualifications should perfect an application online or the hard copy of application via the ministry website and should submit to receive on or before 05.02.2026.
- Should not have been dismissed from any post for which appointment by the Minister in charge of the subject of Justice.
- Should not be serving as a Registrar of Births and Deaths under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act No. 17 of 1951.
- Not being convicted by a Court of Law of any crime other than any offence for which a fine of less than Rs. 10,000.00 could be imposed under Motor Traffic Act (As could be changed from time to time).
- Should have passed in 03 subjects (except General Common Test and English Language) in one sitting at the G.C.E. (Adv. Level)
Examination. Preference would be given to applicants with English knowledge, technological knowledge and have passed in 03 subjects in Biology stream at the G.C.E. (Adv. Level) Examination. - Being conversant in the language in which anticipating to perform duties.
- Should be not less that 27 years and not more than 65 years as at the date of closing of applications.
- Should bear an excellent moral character and be physically fit.
- Should be a permanent resident in the Grama Niladhari Division relevant to the authority area to conduct inquests to which appointment is anticipated.
- Be a citizen of Sri Lanka
