Duties at Work :
- Drive strategic planning, forecasting, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
- Lead the development and execution of the bank’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and market conditions.
- Monitor financial performance and initiate corrective actions to ensure financial stability, capital adequacy, and profitability.
- Oversee timely and accurate preparation of all internal management reports for the Board and senior leadership.
- Ensure full compliance with all external reporting requirements, including financial statements, disclosures, and audit processes.
- Provide leadership for all regulatory reporting in accordance with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) regulations, directions, and guidelines.
- Oversee implementation of systems, processes, and governance structures that ensure compliance, asset protection, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Compliance to reinforce a culture of strong financial discipline.
- Lead the development and execution of the bank’s sustainability and ESG strategy, ensuring alignment with global best practices and local expectations.
- Drive initiatives in responsible finance, environmental impact, and social responsibility in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Provide strategic leadership to the Business Intelligence / Analytics Unit, enabling data-driven decision making.
- Champion advanced analytics, data governance, and insights that enhance operational efficiency, risk management, and business growth.
- Lead the end-to-end process of annual budgeting, long-term planning, and cost control.
- Ensure financial discipline through effective monitoring of expenditures, variance analysis, and resource allocation.
The Person :
- Professional qualification in Finance (ACA/CIMA/ACCA etc.) or a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance /Accounting from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience of which at least 5-6 years should be in a Senior Management Level.
- An MBA and previous experience in Banking and Financial Services will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of CBSL regulatory framework, IFRS, and corporate governance standards.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial strategy, capital planning, risk management, and business performance optimization.
