Assistant Director – National Transport Commission Job Vacancies 2026

National Transport Commission invites applications for the post of Assistant Director. You can apply to it before closing date as per the following details. Closing date and other job details are given below.

General Conditions applicable to the post :

• Applicant should be a citizen of Sri Lanka
• The applicant should adhere to official language policy, enacted by the Government.
• Age limit should be not less than 22 years and not more than 45 years of age limit will not apply to the internal candidates.
• Candidates from Government Departments or Statutory bodies should forward their applications through their respective heads of Department/ Institutions.
• Recruitments will be made upon the performance of the applicants at the interview held.
• Commission will contribute 15% of the salary to EPF (Employees Provident Fund),
  and employee should be 10% to EPF and Commission will Contribute 3% to ETF (Employees Trust Fund), of the Salary.
• Internal Candidates can also apply for the above mentioned post according to the approval of the SOR & SOP Department of Management Services.
• Applications prepares by the applicants having above mentioned qualifications, should be sent with copies of their educational, Professional and experience certificates, together with names and addresses of two non related referees.
• All the applications that do not comply with the above requirements will be rejected.
• The application, marked the post applied for on the top left hand corner of the envelop, and sent by Register post to the Chairman, National Transport Commission, No 241, Park Road, Colombo 05, to reach on or before 09.02.2026.

Qualifications :

External

• Should have sworn in as an Attorney at Law in the Supreme Court & having acquired no less than three years (03) of active professional experience thereafter.

Internal

• Having obtained the qualifications required by the external candidates mentioned above.
• Completion of minimum five (05) years satisfactory service in a post in the Assistant Legal Officer (JM) Category, in the subject area relevant to the post.

Salary :

• Permanent Post – MM 1.1-91,690-10×2,480-15×3,450-168,240 (Basic Salary for the year 2026 is Rs. 81,710)

In addition to the cost of living, Professional allowance and other allowances approved by the Government will be paid.
